Bank of America is funding paid summer internships at the Boys and Girls Club of Hartford for four Hartford-area students through its Student Leaders program. The Student Leaders program provides students with a paid, eight-week summer internship at a nonprofit and participation in a week-long Summit in Washington, D.C., with 300 of their peers from across the country.
Blumshapiro employees teach financial literacy to elementary students
Two dozen blumshapiro employees along with Fox 61 news anchor Jenn Bernstein, taught the fundamentals of financial literacy to more than 240 students at Webster Hill Elementary School in West Hartford as part of Junior Achievement’s JA In A Day program.

University of St. Joseph hosts gala celebration
More than 350 people gathered at the Connecticut Convention Center recently for the University of St. Joseph’s Annual Gala. This year’s event marked the public announcement of USJ’s Capital Campaign, Vision & Values, which will support student and faculty research, student scholarships and USJ’s private special education school, the Gengras Center School.
Federman, Lally & Remis participates in “Read to a Child” program
Farmington accounting firm Federman, Lally & Remis LLC recently finished its third year of volunteering with Read to a Child in partnership with the Lincoln Elementary School in New Britain. The Read to a Child of CT program provides weekly lunchtime reading to students in kindergarten through grade four within Hartford, New Britain and New Haven public schools.
