COMMUNITY COLLEGE PROGRAM HONORED

The Capital Crossroads to Careers program at Capital Community College is the recipient of the New England Board of Higher Education’s 2010 Connecticut State Merit Award. Capital Crossroads to Careers was developed in 2008 by Capital Community College in partnership with and funded through Travelers’ EDGE initiative (Empowering Dreams for Graduation and Employment). Capital students in the program receive financial support towards completing their associate degrees while participating in paid internships. In addition, they receive guidance from corporate and faculty mentors, attend professional development workshops, and are presented with opportunities to explore careers in insurance.
