Our Mission: CCGC’s mission is to assist and support children with emotional and behavioral issues by providing a special education day school and a system of child and family-focused mental health services. Our goal is for them to receive easily accessible, affordable, high quality services in a timely manner.
Since 1959, the Community Child Guidance Clinic has been dedicated to helping underserved children and families of Connecticut live fuller, richer lives. Working with more than 1,000 families each year, CCGC offers a variety of mental health services including a private special education school for students in grades Pre-K through 8, an outpatient mental health clinic, intensive outpatient services for children with more acute needs, and in-home mental health services.

Goals
• Begin to develop our next 3-year strategic plan, which will guide our vision and goals for the agency as a whole. This will expand and deepen our impact in the community.
• Continue to increase our brand awareness and help the community understand how we can help children and families.
• Explore additional funding opportunities in the hopes of acquiring indoor space for our clients and students to participate in physical activity and nontraditional therapeutic interventions — all of which have been proven to improve mental health symptoms and academic outcomes for students.
• Expand both our special education and evidence-based practice offerings, including telehealth, for the students and clients we serve.
• Provide technology updates to allow for easier access to information that is vital to our workflow, as well as introduce tech-friendly mental health interventions for clients and staff.
• Improve our culinary offerings to our special education students, with the possibility of developing a community garden to grow fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as collaborate with local culinary programs.
• Continue to diversify our workforce in all areas to improve our recruitment and retention practices.
