Connecticut commercial fishermen have until March 31 to renew their moratorium fishing licenses, according to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
Those licenses include commercial lobster fishing, otter trawling and general finfish licenses. They are only available to fishermen who were actively fishing between 1995 and 2003.
A 2015 state law mandated that the moratorium licenses be renewed annually. Any licensee who misses the deadline risks having DEEP reissue his license to newcomers, the agency said.
