A comedy club will soon be part of the entertainment mix at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket.
Foxwoods announced that the nightclub Comix will open in the resort sometime by the end of the summer. Although Foxwoods has featured comedians at its venues, this is the first comedy club to open on the property.
This is the second location for Comix; the other is a New York City club named one of the top six comedy clubs in the country by the Hollywood Reporter. The brand of nightly comedy ranges from improv to sketch to music, and Comix has featured performers including Richard Lewis, Janeane Garofalo, Jim Breuer and Craig Robinson.
The Comix at Foxwoods will move into the 7,900 sq. ft. space on the Great Cedar Concourse formerly held by The Club. While operating out of this facility, Comix will assist Foxwoods in booking talent for the MGM Theatre and the Fox Theater, which have featured comedians Jerry Seinfeld, Jeff Foxworthy and Joan Rivers.
