Cable-TV operator Comcast has launched a special news segment featuring Connecticut’s top elected officials, policymakers and business and nonprofit leaders.
Veteran Connecticut news and sports reporter Eric Clemons hosts the five-minute “Comcast Newsmakers” Â segments now airing statewide during CNN Headline News broadcasts. Each segment airs an average of twice a day for 30 days.
Comcast’s digital subscribers can access the interviews any time.
Some of the first featured Connecticut guests will include state Attorney General George C. Jepsen; Hartford Mayor Pedro E. Segarra; John Rathegeber, president and CEO of The Connecticut Business & Industry Association; Sam Gray, president and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford; and Adrienne W. Cochrane, Urban League of Hartford president and CEO.
The interviews are filmed and produced at Comcast’s Connecticut facilities, the operator said.
“Comcast Newsmakers is just one of the many ways we use our technology to reach out and keep viewers connected and up-to-date on the important issues and happenings in their community,” said Mary McLaughlin, senior vice president of Comcast’s Western New England Region, which includes Connecticut.Â
