Comcast VP named to ‘Most Influential’ list

Troy Griffin, vice president of customer service strategy and operations for Comcast’s Western New England region, was recently honored as one the “Most Influential Minorities in Cable,” by CableFAX: The Magazine. 

Griffin oversees the day-to-day management of Comcast’s regional call centers in Enfield and South Burlington, Vt. Griffin has over 14 years of experience in the cable industry and has worked in customer service at Comcast for the past 10 years.

Murtha Cullina’s Dagon named to state board

Murtha Cullina partner George A. Dagon Jr. has been elected to serve as a Connecticut Insurance and Risk Management board member. Dagon co-chairs Murtha Cullina’s tort and product liability group, where he defends general, product, and professional liability suits against manufacturing, transportation, chemicals, and healthcare companies.

The Insurance and Risk Management Board helps protect state-owned property and assets from lawsuits through comprehensive insurance and loss prevention programs.

Manchester CC named to top 150 list

The Aspen Institute College Excellence Program has named Manchester Community College as one of the nation’s top 150 community colleges eligible to compete for $1 million through the 2015 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence. MCC is the first Connecticut community college to be nominated for the honor.

The Aspen Institute identified the top 150 community colleges through an assessment of institutional performance, improvement, and equity on student retention and completion measures. Prize winners will be announced in early 2015.

Liberty Bank lenders named among rising stars

The Connecticut Bankers Association and Connecticut Banking magazine have named Robin Fujio, Kathy Doucette and Kelly Speranza from Liberty Bank among its “New Leaders In Banking.” The designation recognizes rising stars in the local banking industry.

Fujio serves as first vice president at Liberty Bank, responsible for the bank’s deposit services and a staff of 30 people. Speranza is a vice president, responsible for managing all aspects of first mortgage loan sales to investors. Doucette serves as first vice president and treasurer, responsible for the bank’s investments, profitability tracking, asset/liability and the budgeting process.

Pullman & Comley lauded for pro bono service

The Connecticut Bar Association Young Lawyers Section recently recognized Hartford law firm Pullman & Comley for its contribution to the $1 Million Pro Bono Service Campaign.

In total, 55 Pullman & Comley attorneys performed 707.5 hours of pro bono work during a three-month period in 2013. The work ranged from helping an artist retrieve stolen artwork to assisting Holocaust survivors in receiving reparations from the German government for the time they lived and worked in Nazi-controlled ghettos during WWII.
