Comcast partnered with Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters to launch Beyond School Walls, a youth mentoring program that matches 20 students from New Britain’s Lincoln Elementary School with Comcast employees for one-on-one mentoring at the Comcast’s Berlin headquarters.
Under Nutmeg’s supervision, Lincoln School students meet every other week throughout the academic school year with their mentors for fun activities, esteem building exercises and to learn new personal and practical skills.
Comcast has expanded similar initiatives with Big Brother Big Sister programs in other areas it serves, including Philadelphia, Salt Lake City, Minneapolis/St. Paul and Houston.
