The expansion will extend Comcast Business services to additional businesses in East Hartford, Hartford, West Hartford and Middletown.
Comcast has begun construction on a $5.9 million project to expand its high-speed network in the Greater Hartford and Middletown areas, the company announced Tuesday.
The expansion will extend Comcast Business services to additional businesses in East Hartford, Hartford, West Hartford and Middletown. The project is expected to be completed later this year.
Once finished, businesses in the expanded service area will have access to connectivity and communications services including Ethernet and dedicated internet speeds of up to 100 gigabits per second, along with voice, mobile and cybersecurity offerings.
Comcast said it will notify businesses when the new services become available at their locations.
The investment is part of Comcast’s broader effort to expand its network infrastructure. The company said it has invested more than $80 billion nationwide over the past decade to upgrade and expand its network.
