Colt Defense LLC in West Hartford has won a $126 million contract to supply the Army with infantry machine guns, Defense Review reports.
The four-year contract awarded Sept. 25 is Colt’s first-ever machine gun contract, Defense Review reports today on its Web site.
According to the publication, Belgian gunsmith FN Herstal had been the Army’s sole-source supplier of the M240B machine gun. The weapon can be stationary mounted or mounted on vehicles.
