Collab seeks spring crop of business startups

Local entrepreneurs seeking to get to the next level with their business plans are encouraged to apply for Collab’s spring accelerator program, which opened to applications March 1.

When the application period closes March 20, Collab will choose up to 12 entrepreneurs to take part in an 11-week program of coaching, training and mentorship.

Collab plans to host a virtual information session on the program and one-on-one sessions by appointment. Visit https://collabnewhaven.org/accelerator for more information and to apply.

Collab Executive Director Dawn Leaks said, “Our accelerator is a place where early-stage entrepreneurs can take that idea to the next level, with the support of our staff, network and educational programming.”

At the end of the program, participants will present their startup plans to community and industry leaders at the Collab Roundtable event.

Nearly 100 people have graduated from the Collab Accelerator program, now in its fifth year. Of those graduates, 83% represent people of color-led ventures and 74% represent women-led ventures, the organization said in a statement.

Graduates include Havenly, Sanctuary Kitchen Catering, Peels and Wheels Composting and The Notorious P.I.C., an interactive photo-technology company.
