Local entrepreneurs looking to take their business plans to the next level can now apply for Collab New Haven’s Spring Accelerator Program.
The deadline to apply is March 19.
Collab will select entrepreneurs in the early stages of their businesses to take part in an intensive, 12-week hybrid program of coaching, training and mentorship. Collab is looking for individuals who want to create positive change in their communities by building unique businesses and organizations.Â
Collab Executive Director Dawn Leaks has called the program “a place where early-stage entrepreneurs can take that idea to the next level, with the support of our staff, network and educational programming.”
Sessions will run from April 12 until June 28 and include weekly one-on-one coaching, mentoring and workshops focusing on business planning, legal issues, marketing, accounting, gaining customers and more. At the conclusion of the program, participants will present their startup plans to community and industry leaders. There’s also a graduation ceremony to celebrate participants who complete the program.
The Collab Accelerator Program is now in its sixth year. According to its website, since 2017, Collab has supported hundreds of entrepreneurs, including almost a hundred accelerator graduates.
Of those graduates, 83 percent are people of color-led businesses and 74 percent are women-led businesses.
Graduates include several New Haven-based businesses like Havenly, Sanctuary Kitchen Catering, Peels and Wheels Composting and The Notorious P.I.C., an interactive photo-technology company.
