Colchester’s first recreational cannabis dispensary opened for business last week, the 34th storefront in Connecticut selling adult-use marijuana, according to data from the state.
The Harvest Corner, located at 493 Westchester Road, opened Friday as the first equity joint venture business from Torrington-based Still River Wellness.
The opening marks the first location as part of Still River’s adult-use retail cannabis brand, the company said, with another equity joint venture expected to open in the state later this year.
Still River Wellness first opened as a medical marijuana dispensary in 2018, and has since converted to hybrid operations, serving both medical patients and adult-use customers in Torrington.
According to data in the state, 36 cannabis dispensaries are currently open: 21 hybrid; 13 adult-use only; and two medical only.
