S&S Worldwide in Colchester, with sells children’s toys, educational products and other equipment, said it expects to save more than $30,000 worth of fuel oil this season, thanks to energy equipment upgrades at its 250,000-square-foot headquarters.
S&S installed controls on its four boilers, which the company said could reduce its fuel oil usage by 10,000 gallons a year.
It also installed LED lights in its parking lot and lower-wattage bulbs inside its building; a more efficient rooftop air-conditioning system to replace its 40-year-old unit; and heat pumps that will eliminate the need for baseboard heat.
