Northeast Utilities subsidiaries Connecticut Light & Power and Yankee Gas are encouraging any business or residential customer to sign up for payment programs now if they are having any trouble with their bills.
“All it takes to sign up for a program is a phone call,” said Sharon Eberman, CL&P director of customer experience operations, in a statement. “Customers can still sign up for winter protection or one of our other programs. The last thing we want to do is disconnect service to a customer. We have programs and services available to assist them and we encourage them to contact us immediately.”
The electric and natural gas utilities have programs for both businesses and residential customers to either set up a payment plan for their bills, or receive assistance paying for a bill.
CL&P customers should call 800-286-2828 (860-947-2828 in the Hartford and Meriden calling areas). Yankee Gas customers should call 800-438-2278.
