Berlin electric utility Connecticut Light & Power has opened a new electric vehicle information call center in Windsor to help customers understand the technology.
The center is designed to help customers understand the ins and outs of electric vehicle ownership. The number is 1-855-INFO4EV and is staffed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
CL&P has made a number of strides to increase electric vehicle awareness in the state, including installing charging stations, conducting a study on the impact to the power grid of widespread electric vehicle adoption, and working to bring more electric vehicles to Connecticut.
The company would profit a great deal if electric vehicles took a foothold in the state. Instead of gasoline stations, the electrical outlet would be the fuel for transportation.
