Berlin electric utility Connecticut Light & Power has unveiled a new presentation called “Exploring Electricity” to help businesses and community organization understand storm preparation and response.
The presentation is meant to inform customers on the electrical system, including topics such as how power is delivered and the production of green energy. It details a stop-by-step overview of how CL&P prepares for storms, how customers should prepare, and the electricity restoration process.
CL&P faced strong public opposition for its preparation and response to the 2011 storms in August and October, each causing the majority of the utility’s customers to lose power, some for up to 11 days.
