CL&P launches kid safety campaign

Electric utility Connecticut Light & Power launched its Be Safe Not Sorry campaign on Tuesday to promote electric safety for young people.

The program teaches students how electricity works and travels, what the potential dangers are, tree and power line safety, and what to do in an emergency.

The campaign has a Web site – www.safenotsorry.org – where students, teachers and parents can get information on electricity safety.

“This is safety information that we should all be familiar with,” said Jeff Butler, CL&P president and chief operating officer, in a statement. “Safenotsorry.org and our electrical safety school program are two ways we’re getting the word out.”
