Connecticut Light & Power officials say crews have restored power to most of the nearly 15,000 homes and businesses in the state that lost electricity during Tuesday’s strong thunderstorms, The Associated Press reports.
CL&P is reporting only about 320 outages Wednesday morning, including nearly 100 in Vernon and more than 40 in both Redding and Durham. United Illuminating is reporting no outages in the New Haven and Bridgeport areas.
CL&P spokesman Mitch Gross said Tuesday’s fast-moving storms brought strong winds that snapped power lines or knocked tree limbs onto them.
Gross says crews were aiming to fix all the problems by Wednesday morning.
