CL&P donates transformers to Haiti medical clinic

Berlin-based electric utility Connecticut Light & Power will donate two 100 kilovolt-ampere transformers to the Haiti medical clinic on the southwestern part of the country.

The transformers are being donated through the Haitian Health Foundation, a Norwich-based group founded in 1982 to serve the health needs of the island residents.

The transformers will be delivered to the Haitian Health Foundation on April 15, and then sent in May to the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince. From there, the transformers will travel 100 miles to Jeremie in the southwestern part of the country.

The clinic – called the Clinic of the People of God – will install the transformers at the 27,000 sq. ft. facility that serves 400 patients per day.
