California growth consultant Frost & Sullivan gave ClearEdge Power the 2013 North American Company of the Year Award for its acquisition of South Windsor fuel cell firm UTC Power.
Oregon-based ClearEdge completed the acquisition of UTC Power in February, adding intellectual capital and 50 years of experience in the fuel cell market. UTC in South Windsor is now called ClearEdge.
Frost & Sullivan said this acquisition achieved ClearEdge’s strategic vision, moving from a niche provider of residential and small commercial fuel cells to a diverse company with a suite of fuel cell products.
Since the acquisition, ClearEdge has become a major player in the North American fuel cell market, Frost & Sullivan said.
