The Connecticut Clean Energy Finance & Investment Authority has hired an executive from a Stamford investment bank to become CEFIA’s first chief investment officer.
As CIO, Roberto Hunter will work to develop a range of financing approaches with the participants in the clean energy industry. Those approaches include bonds, loan guarantees, tax equity financing, credit enhancements, and low-cost financing arrangements.
The CIO position is key to CEFIA’s goals of helping the Connecticut clean energy industry stand on its own without the need for government subsidies.
Hunter joined CEFIA in June as executive vice president before assuming the CIO position. Immediately prior, he was vice president of finance and chief financial officer of Stamford investment bank Spectrum Capital, which focused on commercial aircraft finance and electric generation investment.
