The chief executive officer of Clean Diesel Technologies Inc. in Bridgeport won’t stick around once it merges with a California clean-emissions partner, a public filing says.
Michael Asmussen, who also is Clean Diesel president, is quitting, effective Oct. 8 but will remain on the board until the merger is completed, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Asmussen also has rejected a six-figure offer to become a vice president with Catalytic Solutions Inc. following its acquisition of Clean Diesel, the filing states.
Instead, Timothy Rogers, Clean Diesel’s  executive vice president of international operations, will succeed Asmussen as CEO. Rogers also will replace Asmussen as a nominee for director at the next annual meeting.
The companies are scheduled to finalize their $5 million merger by Oct. 15, six weeks beyond their previous Aug. 31 deadline.
After the merger, Clean Diesel will close its Bridgeport headquarters and consolidate operations to Catalytic Solutions’ based in Oxnard, Calif.
