Bloomfield health insurer Cigna Corp. has opened a 95,000-square-foot eco-friendly clinic and urgent care center in downtown Phoenix, BizJournals.com reports.
Cigna Medical Group invested $15 million into the facility at 3003 N. Third St., which runs on solar power and has a system in place to limit water and energy usage, making it a candidate for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, The Phoenix Business Journal reports.
The clinic features a women’s clinic with a bone density scanner and digital mammography. It also has a vision center, pharmacy and outpatient surgery center. It also has an electronic medical records system that is connected to Cigna’s 23 health centers in the Phoenix region.
Use of the facility is not limited to Cigna enrollees, said Edward Kim, president and general manager of Cigna Medical Group.
The new facility replaces Cigna’s Clyde Wright Multi-Specialty Center, which operated for nearly 30 years.
