Cigna Corp., which has operations in Bloomfield, has named Benjamin Karsch as senior vice president and chief marketing officer.
He will be responsible for developing and driving Cigna’s enterprise-wide marketing strategy for helping people improve their health and well-being. This includes the management of the Cigna brand and the positioning of the company’s products and services.
Karsch joins Cigna from hotel-casino-resort operator Las Vegas Sands Corp., where he built and ran its global marketing organization.
In his 20-year career, Karsch led brand management for well known consumer products in both the U.S. and overseas markets for Procter & Gamble, Kraft Foods and Johnson & Johnson, and held the position of associate principal with McKinsey & Company, where he served as a marketing consultant for Fortune 100 packaged goods clients.
“Benjy has rich experience in building and maintaining consumer brands as well as deep knowledge of intermediary-based distribution channels,” said Cigna President and Chief Operating Officer David Cordani. “His perspective and expertise will be invaluable in supporting Cigna’s mission and growth strategy.”
Karsch is a graduate of The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, with a degree in economics.
