Bloomfield health insurer Cigna said its first-quarter profits ticked up just under 1 percent on higher revenue from premiums, fees and its mail-order pharmacy business.
Cigna booked profits of $533 million, or $2.04 per diluted share, up from $528 million, or $1.92, in the prior-year quarter.
Revenue grew from $8.5 billion to $9.47 billion, up more than 11 percent.
During the quarter, the company added 367,000 pharmacy customers, 280,000 Medicare Part D customers and 198,000 medical customers.
