Bloomfield-based Cigna Healthcare has entered a partnership with Virgin Pulse to bring a new AI-powered health platform to its customers.
Virgin Pulse, based in Rhode Island, offers a platform which allows people to track their health metrics – such as their weight, sleep quality and exercise levels. Users can set goals for improvement and earn financial incentives.
The new platform will be available to certain Cigna Healthcare customers who receive coverage through their employer effective Jan. 1, 2024, with plans to expand, according to an announcement.
Heather Dlugolenski, senior vice president, commercial strategy and solutions at Cigna Healthcare, said the platform can improve health outcomes.
“For employers, investing in employee well-being directly translates into a more productive workforce and a thriving business,” Dlugolenski said.
The new platform will be accessible via the membership portal, myCigna.
Users can track their health goal progress by logging data or connecting a compatible fitness device, such as an Apple Watch. Based on the data customers enter, their preferences and claims experience, myCigna can connect users to relevant programs or healthcare benefits, such as for pre-diabetes management.
Users can choose to share their progress with others who use the platform, so coworkers, family or friends can encourage each other.
