Cigna members to get free “swine flu” shots

Cigna says it will cover members’ cost to get the H1N1 “swine flu” vaccine once it becomes available.

The Philadelphia managed care provider with major operations in Bloomfield said no deductibles, co-pays or coinsurance, and prior authorization will be required.

CIGNA will pay the allowed administrative cost, while the federal government will pay for the vaccine itself.

The insurer said it will also strongly encourage self-insured employers to cover the full cost to ensure that the greatest number of people are protected.
