After inking 11 agreements last week with large physician groups, Bloomfield health insurer Cigna said it now has 100 collaborative care arrangements across the country reaching a million customers.
Collaborative care, which is similar in some ways to accountable care, puts an emphasis on group health outcomes, and rewards providers financially for hitting quality and cost benchmarks.
In Connecticut, Cigna said it signed agreements with Northeast Medical Group, a physician group affiliated with Yale New Haven Health, effective July 1. Northeast signed a similar agreement with Aetna in May.Â
Cigna set the 100-agreements goal in 2012.
