Cigna exec to host Golf Endurance Challenge for charity

A Cigna Healthcare executive will host the Golf Endurance Challenge at the Golf Club of Avon on July 24, to benefit Gifts of Love, a nonprofit that provides food, clothing and housewares to Connecticut individuals and families in financial crisis.

Brian Cuddeback, an Avon resident, will play 199 holes, starting just before sunrise, in the daylong speed game of golf. He will be with his golf partner and caddy Steve Hahn for the day.

Since the first fundraiser in 2020, the event has grown in popularity. Cuddeback’s goal is to raise $40,000 for the nonprofit.

Cuddeback is a former account executive at United Healthcare and the current vice president of sales and client management at Cigna.

Cuddeback is in his fourth year hosting the event. Over the last three years, the Golf Endurance Challenge has generated a total of $60,000 from family, friends, and Gifts of Love supporters.

Cuddeback was also a participant in the Avon-based nonprofit’s recent third annual Charity Golf Tournament, which attracted 135 attendees and raised $60,000.
