Bloomfield health insurer Cigna said it has signed a collaborative care arrangement with the Connecticut State Medical Society’s independent practice association.
The arrangement, similar to an accountable care agreement, offers financial incentives to CSMS-IPA doctors for achieving targets related to population health and medical costs.
The agreement began on Oct. 1, Cigna said. It is the insurer’s ninth such deal in the state, and a first for the CSMS-IPA, which has 530 primary care doctors and specialists in approximately 285 practices.
