Cigna chief offers to host Obama

From one chief executive to another, Cigna’s David Cordani is inviting President Obama to drop by the managed care company’s Philadelphia offices Monday to talk health-care reform with employees.

The company said Friday Cordani made the overture a day earlier in a letter delivered to the White House.

Obama is scheduled to be in the Philadelphia area Monday to discuss health care reform.

Cigna did not say whether the White House had accepted its invitation.

The invitation is a follow up to the meeting Cardoni and other CEOs of the nation’s biggest health care providers had Thursday with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

Philadelphia is Cigna’s corporate headquarters, but national headquarters for its health care operations is Bloomfield.
