CI startups, UConn students team on digital marketing

A pilot program launched by Connecticut Innovations (CI) and UConn has enabled university students to work with 11 startups to develop projects in digital media and design.

The program, led by ATION, a student-run digital media agency, gives groups of up to six students each the chance to work with companies like Isoplexis and Device42 as they create animated motion graphics as well as film and produce promotional videos and tutorials, conduct user experience research and engage in other types of digital marketing.

Faculty in UConn’s digital media and design department supervise the UConn students.

“At the early stages of development, companies need marketing and communications assistance to succeed,” said Matt McCooe, CEO of CI. “This partnership combines the strengths of UConn and its digital media and design program with our portfolio, and provides companies with marketing assets they can use to grow.”
