Connecticut Innovations said it has loaned $1.5 million to Perosphere, a Danbury pharmaceutical company developing a drug that reverses the effects of blood-thinners to help doctors manage major bleeding during emergencies or surgeries.
Perosphere will use the funds to help construct laboratory and manufacturing space at a new headquarters.
The 16,000-square foot headquarters will house more than 30 employees. Three-quarters of the facility will be lab space.
Perosphere is also working on drugs meant to protect brain cells following a stroke or heart attack and prevent allergic reactions to peanuts.
