The Connecticut Housing Finance Authority said it has $1 million for no-interest loans to help military veterans with home down payment and closing costs.
The 30-year loans can be as much as $10,000, and must be combined with a CHFA first mortgage, which come with below-market interest rates, according to the agency. On Wednesday, rates were between 3.5 percent and 3.85 percent.
The agency said the loans would go to eligible parties on a first-come-first-served basis. Borrowers must complete a three-hour homebuyer courses.
More information is available at CHFA’s website.
Correction: The original version of this story incorrectly stated how many homebuyer courses borrowers must take. The requirement is one three-hour course.
