Chevron Corp. said its subsidiary made two natural gas discoveries offshore Western Australia.
The second-largest U.S. oil company said that Chevron Australia Pty. Ltd.’s discoveries are in the Carnarvon Basin, where Chevron is the leading lease holder.
The Clio-2 well discovered 375 feet of net gas pay, the thickness of the rock that can deliver oil and gas to the well. The Kentish Knock-1 well encountered about 110 feet of net gas pay.
The Clio-2 well is in the WA-205-P permit area, which Chevron Australia operates with a 66.66 percent interest while Shell Development holds the remaining interest. The Kentish Knock-1 well is located in the WA-365-P permit area, which Chevron Australia operates with a 50 percent stake. Shell Development holds the remaining interest. (AP)
