Cheshire resident to lead Gaylord philanthropy

Wallingford-based Gaylord Specialty Healthcare has named Joseph McAndrew Jr. of Cheshire as its senior philanthropy officer.

McAndrew will be responsible for the development and growth of a major gifts program to support Gaylord’s capital and strategic initiatives.

The nonprofit health system focuses on rehabilitation for patients, who come for care following traumatic events ranging from strokes to sports injuries.

Paige Panda, Gaylord’s senior advisor to the president and chief development officer, said, “Joe’s record of leadership and success will grow our capacity for innovation as we continue to push the limits of rehabilitation medicine in the region and beyond.”

McAndrew has more than 16 years of experience in campaign planning, frontline fundraising, stewardship and special events. He most recently served as associate director of development and alumni relations and principal and major gifts officer at Yale Law School.
