Cheshire firm expands market for vision-impaired gear

Vision Dynamics, a Cheshire dealer of products and services for the blind and visually impaired, has gotten an expanded license to exclusively market a Massachusetts firm’s similar products throughout New England.

For a long time, ABiSee Inc., of Acton, Mass., has marketed its EyePal and Zoom-Ex line of electronic scanner/readers via a distribution partnership with Vision Dynamics, authorities said Tuesday.

Vision Dynamics, whose founder and owner Charlie Collins is legally blind, previously sold and serviced ABiSee’s products only in Connecticut and Rhode Island. Its Connecticut store is at 470 W. Main St. in Cheshire.

ABiSee’s devices instantly scan and transmit book or newspaper type to a desktop or notebook PC that the user can either hear or read in larger typeface.

The new pact expands that territory to the four other New England states.
