Changing of the guard for Girl Scouts

Teresa C. Younger, executive director of the Permanent Commission on the Status of Women for the state of Connecticut, was honored recently as she ended her five-year term as president of the board of directors for Girl Scouts of Connecticut. Younger, a past Gold Award recipient, was presented with a certificate, a Girl Scouts of Connecticut pin, and a framed commemorative 100th anniversary silver dollar by Girl Scouts of Connecticut CEO Mary Barneby at the group’s annual meeting. Younger will be succeeded by Caroline Sloat, director of scholarly publications at the American Antiquarian Society. Sloat has served on the Girl Scouts’ board of directors since 2009 and has been involved in Girl Scouting in Connecticut since 1986. Pictured is Barneby handing a bouquet to Younger.
