Northwest Connecticut Chamber of Commerce CEO JoAnn Ryan will lead the Connecticut Employment and Training Commission (CETC), according to Gov. Dannel P. Malloy.
Malloy appointed Ryan, a lifelong Torrington resident, to the commission, which serves as Connecticut’s state workforce investment board. The group provides workforce-related policy and planning guidance to the governor and the General Assembly and promotes coordination of the state’s workforce-related investments, strategies and programs.
“We consistently hear from employers that a strong talent pool is key to their competitiveness and their ability to expand,” Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman said in a statement. “JoAnn’s leadership and experience will help Connecticut find the best strategies to serve the needs of the business community and our state.”
Ryan has served as Chamber CEO since 2002.
