Ch. 3 names Dennis House replacement on ‘Face the State’

Many local TV news viewers were shocked to learn that long-time nightly news anchor Dennis House had left WFSB-TV, Ch.3 late this summer, after nearly three decades at the station.

Now Ch. 3 is moving forward without him.

On Tuesday the station announced two new co-anchors for its “Face the State” weekly politics and current affairs show, which House previously hosted.

Former news reporter and current communications pro Duby McDowell will return to the airwaves hosting the program with Hartford Courant columnist, attorney and former Republican state lawmaker Kevin Rennie, the station announced.

McDowell runs McDowell Communications Group, which is based in downtown Hartford.
