A Middletown certified financial adviser has been admonished by his peers for improperly supervising other advisers and for withholding details of his earlier sanction by financial authorities.
Dale R. Aldieri had appealed his year-and-a-day banishment by  the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards from using his CFP designation.
The panel said Aldieri, based on a March hearing, was found to have performed certain supervisory functions requiring principal registration without being registered with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Inc.
Finra hit him with a six-month suspension and $15,000 fine.
After he was busted, Aldieri failed to notify in a timely manner the CFP of his Finra penalties as required, the CFP said.
The CFP appeals committee upheld the board’s ruling, but replaced the ban with a letter of admonition.
Aldieri could not be immediately reached Thursday for comment.
