A local investor is planning to redevelop a century-old former bank building overlooking Southington’s Town Green into a restaurant after buying the property from the town for $675,000.
Krzysztof Kolodziejczyk, owner of Southington-based AGA Architectural Millwork & Interior Design, purchased the two-story, 8,227-square-foot building on about two-tenths of an acre at 22 Main St., in a deed recorded Dec. 19.
Town land-use officials recently approved Kolodziejczyk’s plans for the 1900-vintage structure, including a rooftop deck. The building previously housed a Bank of America branch that closed in 2022.
Kolodziejczyk, who operates a high-end millwork shop and has various real estate investments, said Monday that he is seeking a tenant to open a restaurant at the site.
The property is being marketed by the Vin Verrillo Team of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices.
Plans call for a full interior gut renovation, featuring flexible indoor dining space and a “dramatic” rooftop terrace, according to a Facebook post by the Verrillo team. The building’s original bank vault remains and could be repurposed as a private dining room, wine room or chef’s table.
“This is going to be a premier destination,” said broker Vincent Verrillo. “It will be the only thing of its kind in the area, very unique and upscale.”

Verrillo said there is already considerable buzz among potential patrons. The site includes ample parking; the town had originally acquired the property for parking access to a municipal lot behind it and retained the lot under the terms of the sale, Verrillo noted.
Kolodziejczyk was represented in the purchase by Roy Evjen of Southington-based Evjen Agency. The town was represented by Toby Brimberg of O,R&L Commercial.
“We were pleased to represent the Town of Southington in the disposition of this property and to help facilitate a transaction that positions the building for its next chapter,” Brimberg said.
