The federal Energy Department awarded a $255,000 grant to the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology and five Connecticut cities and towns to ensure power reliability in the state, particularly in times of supply interruptions.
CCAT and Windham, West Hartford, Ansonia, Waterbury and Bridgeport will use the grant to expand their energy assurance planning and resiliency, reduce the impact for supply disruptions and create jobs in energy assurance.
The project will assess critical facilities and their energy needs. Through a planning process, community-supported solutions will be developed to enhance energy reliability while protecting the environment and community resources.
