The Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology in East Hartford said a quasi-public Massachusetts agency has designated it as an “innovation center.”
MassDevelopment’s designation means CCAT will be one of four choices in its manufacturing innovation program for small manufacturers looking for expertise and equipment to develop new products or improve production processes.
The other three innovation centers are in Massachusetts.
MassDevelopment will pay the lesser of 75 percent or $75,000 of the cost of a contract between CCAT and a manufacturer that results.
