CCAT announces new partnership with international aerospace manufacturer

Gov. Ned Lamont recently announced a new international partnership between an Italy-based aerospace manufacturer and the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology (CCAT).

Pietro Rosa TBM, which owns Farmington-based New England Airfoil Products, will work with the East Hartford-based nonprofit to adopt new manufacturing technologies across its facilities. Through the partnership, CCAT and Pietro Rosa will identify places where the company can be more efficient or streamlined, through automation or other advancements, and then work to implement those systems.

CCAT President Ron Angelo said the official partnership with Pietro Rosa means the two entities can collaborate in a much more direct capacity. Advancements made through the collaboration can also be adopted by other companies that work with CCAT, he said.

Lamont and other manufacturing leaders visited New England Airfoil Products in November to tour the facility and discuss the company’s expansion plans in the state.
