Bonnie Stewart, a top lobbyist and executive at Connecticut Business & Industry Association, has been named executive director of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA).
The new post becomes effective at the beginning of January.
Stewart succeeds Executive Director Arthur J. Renner, a CPA who is retiring after 20 years as the CEO of the CPA membership association. She is currently vice president of government and public affairs as well as general counsel at CBIA, and lives in Colchester.
CTCPA President Robert Boudreau welcomed Stewart, saying she “brings a wealth of relevant experience and talent to our organization.”
Boudreau also thanked Renner, saying accomplishments under his leadership included a streamlining of the organization’s leadership model, legislative advances, two physical relocations into superior facilities, and a number of meaningful public service campaigns.
