The operator of Connecticut’s largest private healthcare exchange for small businesses says it has added voluntary vision and dental plans to its benefits offerings.
The Connecticut Business & Industry Association runs Health Connections.
Phil Vogel, president of CBIA Service Corp., said Wednesday that voluntary benefits are a popular way for large employers to provide on-site coverage to their workers.
Through the exchange, UnitedHealthcare offers two vision plans that feature preventative care and access to a wide network of eyecare providers. A second provider, Ameritas, offers five voluntary dental plans that allow members to choose a dentist.
“While CBIA members have long appreciated our one-stop group benefits platform,’’ Vogel said, “the addition of both dental and vision voluntary lines further enhances the choice and flexibility that CBIA Service Corp. provides small businesses.”
