Catholic Charities launches $3M campaign to expand services amid rising demand

Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Hartford has launched a $3 million fundraising campaign aimed at expanding its programs and securing the organization’s long-term sustainability as demand for services continues to grow.

The “Good Will Follow” campaign was announced during the nonprofit’s annual Help & Hope fundraising event Thursday, which featured UConn men’s basketball coach Dan Hurley as keynote speaker for the third consecutive year. The initiative seeks to sustain and expand vital programs, invest in staff and facilities, and establish an endowment to ensure the organization’s future.

The campaign has already raised more than $1.2 million during its quiet phase, with full participation from the Board of Trustees and contributions from major donors, according to the organization.

Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Hartford served more than 11,000 individuals across Hartford, Litchfield and New Haven counties last year, providing services that range from emergency assistance and behavioral health care to youth and senior programs. The agency serves people of all faiths, backgrounds and ages.

“For more than 100 years, Catholic Charities has walked alongside individuals and families during their most vulnerable moments, offering compassion, dignity, and help,” CEO Marek Kukulka said.

The organization reports increasing demand for its services as communities continue to face economic and social challenges.
