Branford medical device manufacturer CAS Medical Systems said the China Food and Drug Administration has approved the sale of its Fore-Sight Cerebral Oximeter.
The company said its oximeter is the first made outside of China to be approved for sale there.
Casmed’s distribution partner, Beijing Gloryway Medical, will begin selling the oximeter immediately.
“Although we do not foresee significant sales in China in the near term, the CFDA approval is an important part of our strategy to expand into large markets outside of the United States,” Thomas M. Patton, Casmed’s president and CEO, said in a statement.
